The Garden - movement as sound

The Garden can be seen as a braided essay: two stories are intertwined. One consists of images of movers in sync with the environment, and songs are revealed from their movements. The actors are groups of athletes in Amsterdam who try to break free from the stress and the grip of isolation by going outside together during covid-19. The other story is about me watching the small choreography of people who enjoy their time near a lake. The activities in both stories drift between movement and non-movement, dream and reality and our skin which used to be a lively border area when we were young but is now a more impermeable boundary.
