The Garden

2023

At first glance, "The Garden" opens up dreamlike worlds, setting aside the temporalities, politics, and constraints of everyday life and space. It offers a realm where those who enter experience feelings, sensations, and thoughts that transcend the (all too) human. Here, the self is no longer singular, persisting in time and space, but a multiplicity that shifts and expands with each behavioral repetition and new encounter. Human figures lose control over their bodies and environment, becoming components in a choreography with water and soil. Yet, as one lingers longer in this world, it becomes evident that its impact or meaning extends beyond mere momentary escapes from anthropocentrism. "The Garden" is born of paradoxes, reflecting the core challenges our societies face regarding inner and outer nature. It does not simply invite passive spectatorship but challenges the limits and possibilities of what it means to be 'us' as humans and where this 'us' might lead.
