Landscape
2017
Landscape is a composition by ant(s). It has been presented in several ways, in solo and group performances. The documentation you see is a performance at a solo exhibition: How to touch the Space, Nieuw Dakota, Amsterdam. Six performers closely follow the path of an ant across their bodies with their eyes and body. A new movement vocabulary arises, not from thoughts or concepts, but through the ant’s path on the skin's surface. The ant indicates by its movements where the skin and thus the wearer of the ant stops and space begins. For a spectator, the intimate space seems not entirely made for or suited to their eyes.

Performers: Marthy Hecker, Anne van Balen, Vera Goetzee, Clarinde Wesselink.
